The Diamond is composed of pure carbon that has been crystallized under enormous heat and pressure from deep within the earth. Diamond is the hardest known naturally occurring substance known to man. It has a hardness of 10 on the MOHS Table of Hardness. This gem is mostly found transparent and colorless. However, it is found in various hues including shades of pink, blue, lavender, green, yellow, brown and black.
Care
Though very suitable for everyday wear, remove your diamond before engaging in any activities that may cause sharp blows. While the hardness of a diamond is not surpassed, it can be cleaved and chipped by sharp blows.
